2. HEALTH HAZARD DATA


HEALTH EFFECTS: No specific data is available for the product for chronic exposure symptoms.
ACUTE EFFECTS: Swallowed: Data suggests that this product should present no significant problems to typical persons if used as intended. Eye: This product may irritate eyes. However, it is unlikely to cause any more than mild transient discomfort. It is also unlikely to cause any significant lasting effects. Skin: This product may irritate skin. However, it is unlikely to cause more than minor discomfort or effects such as itchiness or slight skin reddening. Inhalation: Data indicates that this product may be irritating if inhaled. May lead to minor discomfort which should quickly disappear once exposure has ceased.
FIRST AID: If poisoning occurs, contact a Doctor or Poisons Information Centre. If swallowed, do NOT induce vomiting. Give a glass of water.

3. PRECAUTIONS FOR USE


EXPOSURE STANDARDS: N/A There is a blanket limit of 10mg/m3 for dusts or mists when limits have not otherwise been established. The nature of this product makes it unlikely that this level will be approached in normal use.
ENGINEERING CONTROLS: In industrial situations, concentration values below the TWA value should be maintained. Values may be reduced by process modification, use of local exhaust ventilation, capturing substances at the source, or other methods.

 

If you believe air borne concentrations of mists, dusts or vapours are high, you are advised to modify the process or environment to reduce the problem.

 

4. PERSONAL PROTECTION:


The following instructions are meant for people coming into frequent and lengthy contact with this product. For occasional use, take precautions suitable for the conditions under which the product is being used.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: The use of a dust or vapour mask is suggested when this product is being used, especially if in confined or dusty spaces.
PROTECTIVE GLOVES: Impermeable protective gloves should be worn when you are using this product, to prevent irritation.
Eye Protection: Protective eyewear is not normally necessary when using this product.
However, it is always prudent to use protective eyewear.
Clothing: This product is essentially safe to use without special protective clothing. However, its use is recommended as a good industrial practice. Safety Boots: Wearing safety boots in industrial situations is advisory. Protective Footwear.
Always wash hands before smoking, eating or using the toilet. Wash contaminated clothing and other protective equipment before storing or re-using.

 

5. SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION


STORAGE & TRANSPORT: No special storage and transport requirements. This product has no UN classification. Not a Scheduled Poison. Containers should be kept closed in order to minimize contamination. Keep from extreme heat and open flames, and are sure that the product does not come into contact with substances listed under "Materials to avoid" below.

 

SPILLS & DISPOSALS: Minor spills do not normally need any special cleanup measures. In the event of a major spill, prevent spillage from entering drains or water courses. As a minimum, wear overalls, goggles and gloves. Stop leak if safe to do so, and contain spill. Sweep up and shovel or collect recoverable product into labeled containers for recycling or salvage. Recycle containers wherever possible. After spills, wash area preventing runoff from entering drains. If material enters rains, advise emergency services. This material may be suitable for approved landfill. Dispose of only in accord with all regulations.
FIRE & EXPLOSION HAZARD: There is no risk of an explosion from this product under normal circumstances if it is involved in a fire.
